Different Types of Vinyl Fences

The types of vinyl fencing are as varied as the customers buying them. For those unfamiliar with vinyl fences, they make them from recycled plastics and they are strong and of high quality. The base material is rigid PVC (polyvinyl chloride) that they modify so it provides strength as well as ultraviolet (UV). The finished product is similar to vinyl siding and the vinyl fences have long-term durability and integrity as well. Over the years, the manufacturers have improved the quality with long lasting materials.
If your image of vinyl fencing has not been good, you should inspect them again and you’ll be amazed how much they have improved. That’s why they are popping up all over in every neighborhood because they keep their beauty and look brand new for years to come.

Total privacy vinyl fences are extremely popular. The total privacy fencing has interlocked tongue and groove pickets. They are perfect around swimming pools or back yards where privacy is preferred. They range in different sizes, but are usually between four and six feet high. The panels are normally six feet wide and are easy to install.

There are other sizes of vinyl fences and many are semi-private. The pickets are spaced apart and can be horizontal or wavy patterns. Those come in various heights and are suitable for fences around a garden or front yard where you want to see through them. They also come in different colors, and not all of them are white or off-white.

Designs including a realistic wood grain, a stone texture or granite texture are just a few of the variations. Many companies specialize in one or more of these types of vinyl fences. You’ll also see picket vinyl fences because they last for long periods of time unlike their wood counterparts that need painting regularly. Vinyl rail fencing is popular for the same reasons.

Lattices are other options that fit on top of the vinyl fences. They have crisscross, horizontal, vertical and even woven lattice patterns.

The more popular they become, the more variety you’ll find. Companies that make their own product have wider varieties than your local hardware store who sell them in large quantities. If you want your vinyl fence to be original and unique, drop by one of the companies, you’ll be able to pick and choose exactly what you want.

As you compare prices and quality, be sure to remember they go hand in hand, and you get what you pay for.
