Orange County Vinyl Fence: There Are Advantages to Vinyl Fencing

Yes, just like the title says, there are advantages to Vinyl; however there is not enough space in this article to list them all. We’ll start with the obvious. Vinyl fencing is weather proofed because they make the fencing from plastic. You may be more familiar with PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride). Imagine your PVC pipe as a fence. What that’s not possible? If you tried that without the proper stretching and molding, you’d be disappointed. Plastic’s been around for many years and, and according to Webster it is pliable and capable of being molded.

The history of plastic or vinyl started long before DuPont revolutionized it early in the 1930’s and nylon was the first purely synthetic fiber. Remember they used nylon to make nylon stockings for women. Nylon replaced the silk stockings, but most women could not afford either. Cotton was their choice but lacked the sheerness of nylon or silk. Then in 1941 during the Second World War, the United States government took charge of the plastic/vinyl industry, and used it to make parachutes among other things. The use of synthetic rubber during that time became popular as well.

Why did it take so long for vinyl fencing to become popular? That’s a good question. Possibly because the uses were considered below standard to other more popular materials. Materials like wood, chain link, or brick and cement. Today however consumers are accustomed to the synthetics because they last longer and when a professional installs vinyl fencing in a neighborhood everyone takes notice.

If you live in California almost every home has a fence around the back yard, and many choose to extend them to their front yard as well. Privacy is one of the biggest attractions but beauty follows close behind. When you add durability and the fact that never again will you paint that fence, it’s debatable if that follows third, but probably fights for the first two attractions.

Needless to say, vinyl fencing upgrades your home and neighborhood too. It adds value to your home without raising your home taxes. There are several types for those who desire complete privacy to the front picket fence that stands at attention around your garden or front yard.

Quality is one of the biggest differences from the local hardware store to the private professional who will tell you the advantages of both. The homeowner can also install the fencing himself and it doesn’t take an Einstein to achieve that goal.

  1. Vinyl fencing is a great alternative to wooden fencing. It is important to take your time when planning your fence using vinyl. Vinyl fence panels need to be installed correctly to avoid issues after time goes by.
